10% of every digital and print sale will be re invested back into micro-grants and workshops for female founders, builders, and creatives. This is a community effort from the first page to the last.

If you’re a female founder, builder, or creative, apply to be part of this edition.
If you’re a brand that believes in this mission, we have advertising spots available.
If you want to support a community reclaiming what it means to be bossy, order the first edition of Bossy and Brown. Out on Reclaiming Bossy’s third birthday, 14 August 2026.
A magazine for anyone who’s ever been called Bossy…

1.8% of VC funding goes to female founders. For women of colour, that number is even smaller. The stories, the talent, the creative intelligence have always been there; it’s now time to give them visibility and access.
Reclaiming Bossy was born three years ago as a podcast to showcase the stories of female founders, builders, and creators building bold and bossy lives and careers. We have since grown into a global community of listeners in 65+ countries, with international seasons in Amsterdam, Madrid, and beyond.
This magazine was born from the same spirit of being unapologetically Bossy. For South Asian Heritage Month and Brown Girl Summer, we put out a callout for South Asian creatives. Within 48 hours, 300 comments came in and we received DMs from founders, artists, builders, and writers from across the UK, India, and the South Asian diaspora worldwide who had important stories and actionable insights to share. As we couldn’t feature every single one on the podcast, we are building a magazine to showcase the bossiest and boldest brown girls building and creating across the world.
